Projects and Activities

Brief Description

01 Prep Course

Prep Course, a one-day event, is COMTECH’s preparation for the Orientation Seminar. Here, the incoming COMTECH freshmen have the opportunity to meet their course mates from different blocks even before Ateneo’s Orientation Seminar, thus allowing them to establish a relationship with one another early on. Aside from fun, ice-breaking and bonding activities, talks and focus grouped discussions will be held in order to address the audience’s curiosity regarding their prospective life as COMTECH majors.

02 Orsem Talk

Project heads of this event will serve as representatives of ACTM to the Orientation Seminar committee of the Ateneo. They will be responsible in inviting the speakers for the course talk during the Orientation Seminar and will be spearheading the organizational talk wherein ACTM is given the chance to introduce itself as the home organization of COMTECH majors to the incoming freshmen.

03 Recruitment Week ‘RecWeek’

Recruitment Week is a project in collaboration with the Council of Organizations of the Ateneo (COA) that has a two-fold objective: one is to increase organizational awareness and two, to recruit members. In this light, this week-long event will not only serve as ACTM’s opportunity to promote itself as an organization, but also to strengthen its human resources.

04 First General Assembly

The 1st General Assembly is the first event within the school year that allows all the organization’s members to gather together, meet and greet. The event usually follows a planned program and an attention-grabbing theme. This is an opportunity for the organization to attract members and give them a sneak peek of what’s in store for them in their ACTM experience. Thus, this is a crucial event that may give the members a positive impression of the organization.

05 Tambay Week*

Tambay Week aims to nurture camaraderie among the members of the organization through a series of fun activities, which is a channel for members to get to know their fellow ACTM member.  Furthermore, this project also fosters communication among ACTM members and enables them to have the time to unwind and enjoythe rest of their day in school.

06 ACTM Sportsfest

ACTM Sportsfest is a week-long series of competitions that aims to celebrate the ingenuity and fitness of ACTM members by adding twists to usual sports events. Participants from different year levels are grouped according to their block (R, R1, R2, R3, or R4). Consequently, it is hoped to build stronger bonds among the members through sports teams.

07 A|X Alumni Exchange

In an aim to maintain relations with COMTECH alumni coupled with the drive of empowering members through exposure and practical learning experience, A|X allows members to have a sense of life as a COMTECH graduate. In A|X, partner alumnus takes COMTECH undergraduates to his/her workplace and lets them witness the nature of his/her job first-hand.

08 Digital Workshop

This chain of seminars aims to teach the basics of photo, video, and multimedia editing. Topics include Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator (1stand 2ndsession), Adobe Premiere and After Effects (3rd and 4th session), and Adobe Flash (5thsession). Seminars are open to all Ateneans.

09 Numina

Numina is an intercollegiate digital arts competition that encapsulates the fields of Communications, Technology, and Management. To emphasize the organization’s core competency, Numina is dedicated in creating digital art print ads that will communicate a certain brand’s message effectively – IMC. As a grand event, Numina will be open to other students from other prestigious universities. Its awarding ceremony will be held in a mall in order to maintain exposure of the organization; more specifically, Numina is a projectheld outside campus campus.

10 SOM Week

The School of Management Week or simply SOM Week is a week-long competition with other member organization of the Business Cluster. Each organization is given the opportunity to craft its own challenge or event that will become part of the series of competitions held during the week. This project requires dedicated individuals who are willing to go out of their way and are up to the challenge of regaining ACTM’s title as SOM Week Champion.

11  Second General Assembly

The 2nd General Assembly is an eventthat celebrates ACTM’s successful activities during the 1st Semester. This event is usually a themed party, held outside campus, in which outstanding members and project heads are given recognition for going out of their way to be of service to the organization. Also, it is in this event that ACTM members get to have a kick-off for the new semester.

12 ACTM Week

ACTM Week is a week-long event that serves as an avenue for activities that are geared towards kindling ACTM pride. ACTM showcases its offerings and competence to the rest of the Ateneo community by holding activities that are uniquely and certified Communications Technology Management.


13 CSR Project

As a CSR Project, this project aims to bring the knowledge of IMC outside of the walls of the Ateneo. It is developed for 3rd year public school students in order to increase their awareness and understanding about marketing and media. This seminar will also include different idea generation workshops, that will be of help to the audience not only in terms of their knowledge in the importance of marketing, but to their different projects as well.

14 Alumni Night*

The Alumni Night aims to reestablish connection and contact with different ACTM alumnus. Building strong relationship with the alumni is important for ACTM as they can be of great help to the organization in general and to the members in particular. The gathering can be any event suitable for fulfilling such purposes (i.e dinner or cocktail party).

15 Caroling*

In the spirit of the Yuletide season, Caroling showcases the wonderful talents of different ACTM members by visiting different houses and performing for them in order to raise funds for the organization.

16 IMC Seminars

This chain of seminars aims to further develop members in the different aspects of marketing, more specifically IMC. The topics will be advertising, activation, and customer relations management. Participants to the IMC Competition will be highly encouraged to attend these seminars. The project is open for all Ateneo students.

17 Camp IMC*

Camp IMC is the newest project of ACTM and the epitome of the organization’s core competency – Integrated Marketing Communications. The camp is a 3-day event that aims to assemble people interested in the said field together. The camp will include seminars and intensive workshops that will prepare the participants for their case studies, which will be presented on the last day of the camp.

18 IMC Competition

Being one of ACTM’s flagship projects, the IMC Competition will be extended to the whole Ateneo community. Teams, comprised of students preferably from different year levels, will compete against each other by planning, strategizing and finally presenting a concrete output – a channel which best communicates or addresses the IMC of a certain brand, given a certain situation. Outputs may be in different forms such as a broadcast commercial, print ad, visual merchandising, event, etc. Presentation of outputs may be held outside campus in order to increase org. exposure.

19 Verge (Year End Party)

After a year of hard work, ACTM celebrates having members that share its vision of promoting its ideals. Members and project heads that stepped-up during the second semester are given credit through an awarding ceremony in the event. Another highlight of this event lies in the induction and turnover of the old Executive Board to the incoming Officers of the organization for the following school year.

20 Leadership Training Course

The Leadership Training Course will be available to aspiring officers of the organization. It’s a 2-3 day course that will comprise of a few leadership seminars and a developed apprenticeship program, which will train and develop potential and eminent leadership skills present in the aspirants. Moreover, this leadership seminar will help aspirants to determine which position best suits their personalities and capabilities, if they decide to run for a position for the following school year.

21 Wired

Wired is ACTM’s online newsletter that contains feature stories on previous projects, ComTech-related matters, and success stories of alumni. Wired allows artists and writers to showcase their works by accepting contributions from students as well.
